Apart from Pakistan, the other 22 countries included in the UN list are Afghanistan, Angola, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Chile, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Lesotho, Mali, Mauritania, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Niger, Somalia, South Sudan, Syria, the United States and Zambia.
Water shortage in Sindh, people furious at the government
The report says that by 2050 an additional 4 million square kilometers of natural areas the size of India and Pakistan will require measures to combat drought. It warns that 40 percent of the earth's land has been eroded, affecting half of the human population. On one hand, Pakistan has been considered a drought-prone country in the United Nations report, while people in its Sindh province are facing water shortage for drinking and essential purposes. According to Dawn's report, a disaster-like situation has arisen due to this.
Punjab accused of looting the water of Indus river
One reason for this crisis is also the lack of release of water from the rivers by Punjab. Sindh Chamber of Agriculture has also demonstrated against this. Activists from Sindh demonstrated outside the press club in Karachi on Sunday. Indus United Party leader Roshan Ali Buriro said that now Pakistan Peoples Party is a partner in the country's power, even after this Sindh is not getting its share of water. He said that the water load of Indus river is going from Punjab side through Chashma-Jhelum link canal and Thal canal. Even after this, the PPP has kept silence.
Temperature reached 51 degree Celsius in Jacobabad, Sindh
